Introducing the Inside Welsh Rugby tour diary
With both Wales and the Lions on tour, Inside Welsh Rugby will soon be jetting off to cover them both
Hi all,
Matt Sherratt’s Wales have arrived in Japan, while the British and Irish Lions are now Down Under preparing for their first match on Australian soil.
And soon, WalesOnline will be on tour too - first in Kitakyushu and Kobe for Wales’ two-Test series against Japan, and then in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney for the Lions’ Test series versus the Wallabies.
It’s set to be a bumper five weeks and Inside Welsh Rugby will be bringing you closer than ever before to both tours.
Naturally, there’ll still be the comprehensive online coverage of both tours on the website.
And WalesOnline’s Welsh Rugby Podcast will be putting out weekly episodes as an eventful 2024/25 season culminates with two different tours on the other side of the world - with the podcast available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
But on the newsletter front, there’s set to be even more coverage of Wales and the Lions.
Over the coming weeks, as well as the usual weekly Inside Welsh Rugby newsletter, there’ll be regular tour diary updates throughout the week - providing you with more detail from both tours.
So if you are a paid subscriber, we look forward to having you join us behind the scenes in Japan and Australia.
But if you’re not a paid subscriber, all isn’t lost yet! You can sign up to become a full member here.

Throughout the tour, we’ll also be using the live chat feature on Substack to pose questions for our readers and let you dictate what we cover on the newsletter and podcast.
If you do want to get involved in that, you’ll need to download the Substack app - available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversations as they happen.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside. There are other handy features in the app that I will be testing out so please join me and be a part of the conversation.
If you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ’s here and a handy link to getting started on the app is here.
It’s set to be an exciting five weeks in Japan and Australia - hopefully you’ll join us!
Thanks,
